Type Examination according to the Machinery Directive

Hazardous machinery? Let Dancert help you.

All machines must be CE marked in accordance with the Machinery Directive before they can be marketed and put into use on the European market. The CE marking ensures the free movement of the product throughout the European Economic Area (EEA), and with the marking the manufacturer or importer guarantees that the product complies with all the legal requirements of that Directive.

In the vast majority of cases, you - as a manufacturer - can 'self-approve' your machines without the involvement of a third party - and you can issue a Declaration of Conformity for compliance with the directive.
However, certain hazardous machinery may be subject to special conformity assessment procedures requiring EU type testing to be performed by a Notified Body.

Does the above sound a bit complicated or are you not sure how to categorize your machine? We know the directive and the rules and are ready to guide and to help you with the Type Examination.
